The Popsicle was created in 1905 by 11-year-old Frank Epperson.
In 1905, one-night Frank Epperson in his childhood left his fruit-flavored soda out on the back porch with a stir stick in it. Next morning, he found that the mixture froze to an icy treat.
18 years later, he applied for a patent. He originally named his creation as Epsicle ice pop, but his kids renamed it Popsicle.
