Innovation Description
Mr. Scaria is a marginal young farmer 25 years of age and has studied only upto intermediate. He owns one acre of land. Besides, he takes lands on lease from others and grows vegetables, paddy, banana etc. in them.
A new plantain variety :
“Morisa” is a new variety of plantain plant (banana plant) being cultivated by him in his farm without using any fertilizers or pesticides.
He developed this seed by crossbreed method. Each plant can produce a banana bunch weighing 50 to 60 kgs.
He still has this kind of plantains at his field and anybody can come and see them.
