National Security Day

NSDNational Security Day is celebrated on March 4 every year. It is also known as Rashtriya Suraksha Diwas. It is celebrated to praise the work of various security forces in India. This day is dedicated to all the structures working for peace and security of the country.

It is celebrated to appreciate the efforts of all of the security forces like policeman, commandos, army officers and other people who are working for the country’s security and to remember their sacrifices, while fighting against various external threats and internal rebellion. This day is celebrated to encourage the work of these people who continuously work for the peace and harmony of the country. It is also celebrated to remind us about our personal responsibility towards the nation.

On this day various activities are organized by several organization to spread awareness about citizen’s personal responsibility towards the nation. Various events are organized in which awards and rewards are given to those who are working for national security and peace. This day marks a salute to the soldiers and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. Various functions are organized to pay homage to them by offering flower and garland on their photos. Usually, all the three chiefs of Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy pay their tributes along with the President and Union Defense Minister.
