IP4Kids proudly presents its annual essay writing competition in celebration of World Intellectual Property (IP) Day, observed every year on April 26. This global day highlights the importance of creativity, innovation, and intellectual property rights in driving progress across industries, including sports, technology, arts, and more.

This year, students are invited to explore the exciting intersection of Intellectual Property and Sports and share their insights through original essays.

Theme:

“IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate”

From cutting-edge sports technology to athlete branding, media rights, and merchandising, innovation is the heart of sports. This competition encourages participants to explore how Intellectual Property drives creativity and growth in the sports industry.

Suggested Topics Include:

  • IP in sports innovation and technology
  • Protection of athletes’ rights and identity
  • Broadcasting and commercialization of sports
  • Branding, merchandising, and sponsorship
  • Emerging technologies and data analytics in sports

Students may also propose their own sub-topics aligned with the theme.

Eligibility

Open to school and college students of all grades.

Rules for Participation

  • Essays must not exceed 3000 words
  • Only one entry per participant
  • Essays must be original, written in English, and AI-free
  • Plagiarism in any form will result in disqualification
